The problem with traditional time capsules is that someone has to remember to dig them up. The lid gets warped, the tin gets sold in a yard sale, the kid grows up and moves three times. The letter inside — the part you actually wrote — is the part that should never be lost.
So we made just that part. You write the letter, we hold it sealed, and on the date you said it shows up in the mail. No tin, no shovel, no “wait, where did we put it.”

What is a time capsule letter?
A letter written today and opened on a specific future date. The traditional version goes in a tin box buried in the backyard. Ours skips the box and the burial — you write the letter, we hold it sealed, and on the date you chose we mail it to the address you picked. Same idea, no shovel.
How is this different from the standard time capsule with photos and trinkets?
Standard time capsules are a curated collection of stuff. They take up space and they require someone to actually be in the room to open them on the future day. A time capsule letter takes up no space, requires no one to remember, and arrives in the mailbox on the morning you said. It is the letter portion of a time capsule, made deliverable.
Can the letter wait years?
Up to two years from when you write it. For most time-capsule purposes — a one-year reflection, a baby's first birthday, the morning of a kid's wedding within the next two years — two years is plenty. We are working on longer windows but they are not built yet.
Is the letter the only thing inside the envelope?
Yes — just paper. We do not enclose photos, dried flowers, or other physical objects. The letter itself can describe anything you want preserved: what your kitchen looks like, the song stuck in your head, the news from this week, the people you love. The descriptions outlast the objects anyway.
Can I use this for a classroom or baby shower time capsule?
Absolutely — each guest writes their own letter, we mail each one back on the date you choose (graduation, the baby's 18th, the kid's 21st). Each is a separate $9 or $19 order with its own envelope and address.
