What happens after you hit send
You type it here, in a browser, probably in pajamas. Then it stops being a screen thing. We print your letter on heavy cream stationery, fold it, seal the envelope with wax, and put it in the mail so it lands on the date you picked — any day from one month to two years out.
It costs $9, once. No subscription, no account you have to remember to cancel. It can go to you or to anyone else with a US address.
Write it
Type as much or as little as you like. A list of things you’re worried about counts. So does a single paragraph of instructions for future you.
Pick the date and the address
Anywhere from one month to two years from today. Your mailbox or someone else’s, as long as it’s in the US.
We print, seal, and wait
Your letter is stored encrypted until it’s time. Then it goes out as a sealed paper envelope — not an email, not a link.
Questions people ask here
Is a typed letter really mailed, or is it an email?
Really mailed. Every Digital Future Letter is printed on cream stationery, sealed with wax, and arrives as a physical envelope on the date you chose. There is no email version.
Can I send a typed letter to someone else?
Yes. Enter their US address instead of yours. We don’t contact them beforehand, so it shows up as a surprise on the day you picked.
Does anyone read what I type?
No. Digital letters are encrypted and stored securely until they’re printed for delivery.
I’d rather write it by hand. What are my options?
Two. Upload a photo of your handwritten page and we’ll print it for the same $9, or mail us the real letter for $19 and we’ll store it sealed and mail the original back.
