The FutureMe Alternative That Actually Mails You a Letter
An email from the past is easy to dismiss. An envelope is not.
FutureMe started in 2002 and quietly invented the whole “letter to your future self” category. It is a fine email tool. We do a different thing: we print your letter on cream stationery, seal it with wax, and drop it in the actual mail on the date you choose.
One payment. No subscription. The next person to read your letter is you — opening an envelope you forgot you wrote.
How We Are Different
What changes when the letter is real
Physical Delivery
A letter on your counter, not in your inbox
You will not scroll past it. You will see your own handwriting on the envelope (or our cream-paper one, if you typed it), and you will stop what you are doing. That is the whole point.
Sealed and Private
We never read what you wrote
Handwritten letters are sealed when they arrive at our PO box and stay sealed until they leave it. Digital letters are encrypted until the morning we print them. No previews, no AI summaries, no marketing use.
Pay Once
$9 or $19. That is the entire price.
No subscription, no upsell, no tiered plan to decode. You pay for the letter you are writing, we mail it on the date you said, and we both move on with our lives.
An Honest Side By Side
FutureMe vs. Hold My Letter
Both are good for what they are. They are just not the same thing.

When to use each one
Stay with FutureMe
If a future email is what you want
Quick goal check-ins. A note to yourself about that book idea. Something you want to land in your inbox and disappear once you have read it. Their free tier still covers a lot of that.

Frequently Asked
What people ask when they switch
Is Hold My Letter free like FutureMe used to be?
No — we are $9 for a digital letter and $19 for a handwritten one, paid once per letter. We are also not an email service. Your letter arrives as a sealed envelope in your physical mailbox on the exact date you chose. The price covers the paper, the wax, the stamp, and storing your letter safely in the meantime.
Why pay when FutureMe (mostly) still works?
If a future email is what you want, FutureMe is a perfectly fine tool. We do a different thing. We print your letter on cream stationery, seal it with wax, and put it in the actual mail. An email from the past is easy to delete or scroll past. An envelope on your kitchen table is not. People pay us when the moment is worth a real letter.
What happens to my letter between writing it and the delivery date?
We never read it. Handwritten letters stay sealed from the moment we receive them, in climate-controlled, fire-resistant storage. Digital letters are encrypted at rest until the morning of delivery, when we print, seal, and mail them. There is no AI summarization, no preview, no marketing use of the content. The whole point is that the next person to read it is you.
Can I move letters I already wrote on FutureMe over?
There is no direct import — FutureMe holds your letters until their scheduled email. But there is nothing stopping you from copying a letter you have already written there, pasting it into our digital form, and choosing a US mailing address. You will end up with the email arriving when FutureMe said it would, plus a real physical envelope on the date you picked from us.
What if I want a letter to arrive years from now?
We deliver any date from one month to two years out. If you need delivery more than two years from now, we are not the right fit yet — but we will mail you on the longest date we support, and you will hear from us in your mailbox when it arrives.
Is this US only?
Yes. We mail through USPS to US addresses only. Postage, paper, and the studio are all built around the US postal system. International delivery is on our list but not live.
Ready to write the one that actually arrives?
Write today. Pick a date. We will mail it.
